BF says it works great, but it's not particularly pleasant January 6, 2009 I got this clock as a gift for my boyfriend for his birthday. He was sleeping in too late because he kept hitting snooze without realizing it and not getting up as early as he wanted. He told me that he does wake up a lot better now. However, the noise is kind of annoying (think of the malfunctioning hearing aid screech) so he thinks he'll stop using that part of the alarm since the vibrating part works well. Also, he doesn't particularly like getting "buzzed" awake, even though it works very well.
The best alarm ever for heavy sleepers!! January 1, 2009 This alarm does the trick if you are a heavy sleeper like i am. I promise you, if you set this up correctly, you will never over sleep for work or an important meeting.
Shakes you awake. December 31, 2008 It's for the hearing impaired.
It's expensive, but it works. It shakes me awake, but I snooze it till I feel like waking up just like any alarm clock. The snooze button is really small, but it has a little bum on it that sets it apart.
Setup is easy, but I wish it had more than only 1 alarm for the price.
The boomer must be under your head to really get you up, otherwise you won't really be irritated to move. This is one of the reason's why you hear about people sowing a little pocket in their pillow's for it. That and because the little bugger likes to move while it's booming. Nobody likes to reach under their bed for it, well at least I don't.
It has the potential of being very loud. I currently dorm on campus, and we have thin walls. With that in mind, from the 1-10 buzz volume, I have mine set on 3. There's an analog nob to set the tone of the buzzer as well. This can be convenient if you easily get used to your alarm tone, as you can change the frequency.
No FM/AM radio option what so ever.
Takes a 9V battery for backup power in case the lights ever go out. There is also a switch behind the 9V battery to switch from the default 60Hz to 50Hz.
You can switch the LED time to shine bright or low. (2 options only)
It has the option to switch between 24 hr (Military) time and 12 hr time.
Back of the alarm clock: Input: AC 9V 900mA
Power Adapter: Input: 120V AC 60Hz 0.15A Output: 9V AC 900mA
It does what it says, shakes you awake. Will post pictures soon.
Check power consumption prior to purchase December 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Please check the power consumption compatibility in your country before you purchase this item. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for use in Singapore. I did not get a chance to try out the alarm clock because when I connect it to the power supply at home, the power supply gets terminated within 10 seconds while I was setting the time. Luckily, there is a circuit breaker in Singapore homes. I searched for a suitable adaptor but it could not provide sufficient power. Therefore, the conclusion is this alarm clock is not suitable for use in Singapore.
I feel the supplier/manufacturer did not provide enough information/warning about this issue on the website. I hope this review can serve to inform those interested users outside USA.
serves the purpose December 23, 2008 i had a really awful experience a few years ago with this company's alarm clocks and since then i had avoided this particular brand of alarm clocks. however, i am hearing impaired and this company pretty much has a monopoly on suitable alarm clocks. so i decided to give it another try and surprisingly, i have not had any problems yet. i've had the clock for about two months now. the problems i had before were all over the place and basically i had to ship back and forth 3 or 4 alarm clocks and none of them worked, which is why i gave up. but this one seems to be working fine so far.
