Worked okay but.... December 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Broke my leg and ankle and was anxious to be able to shower. Ordered this and indeed I was able to slide it over the cast with some effort, and happily was able to take a shower and keep the cast dry.
Unfortunately the gasket/seal tore as I was taking it off, so I only got one use out of it. Sort of expensive for one shower!
Going forward, I used a trashbag and water-proof medical tape, and that did the trick... Perhaps I had bad luck, but this product was too expensive to only use once.
A Lifesaver! October 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I fractured my foot, and I have a full leg cast. The thought of sponge bathing for 8 weeks was so depressing, but this protector solves the shower problem. Really works! Amazon was just wonderful - I paid for standard shipping and received the Protector in 2 days! Also, the price was less than the medical supply store. (They put me on "hold" when I phoned, so I gave up after 15 minutes and phoned Amazon.) Thank you, Amazon!
Worth every $ to me August 7, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I thought this was too pricey ... until I used it a few times. This product really works! I was using big plastic bags and waterproof tape, but making sure of the seal was tedious. The seal on this device is very snug and I haven't gotten a single drop of water inside. It slips on/off better if you wear a nylon sock over whatever cast cover you are using. I'm taking baths with a handheld shower head, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work if you can stand up in the shower. You do need to measure to find the right size (in inches). I'm 5'1" and the 23" (short) fits with room to spare over a cast "to-the-knee". This has simplified my day in enormously.
cast protector July 6, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This product does just what it says it does. With all the frustrations connected to ankle surgery, it's delightful to be able to do something as simple as take a shower. I never spend a moment worrying about getting my splint wet.
This product makes life easier for someone in a cast. April 5, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My husband shattered his heel and wore a splint for a month, and now he's in a cast up to his knee. I bought the protector right after his injury to make grooming a little easier each morning. It's been a lifesaver. At first, it was a little difficult to pull it up over his splint because the opening on the gusset is rather small. But when we put on a woman's nylon stocking first, it went on much easier. The same for the cast- using a stocking first makes it easier. He's able to get in the shower without worrying about getting his cast wet. The gusset keeps all water out. I'm glad we haven't had to use a trash bag! Great product!
