Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Consumption of Omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. FDA evaluated the data and determined that although there is scientific evidence supporting the claim, the evidence is not conclusive. Omega-3 fatty acids also help maintain triglyceride and cholesterol levels already in the normal range.* *This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

5 out of 5 stars One Less Trip to The Drug Store   May 27, 2008

I started buying my vitamins online from Amazon. I did this so I did not have to drive in to the grocery or drug store.

Pros: No Driving, Same Vitamins I always buy.

Cons: Higher Quantities, Bigger Bottle, Must Plan Ahead

Fish Oil is one of those questionable supplements. I like to take fish oil because I don't think there is enough healthy oils in the typical western diet. I also like fish oil because I feel healthier when I take it.

My only concern is that fish sometimes have mercury. Does the fish oil have a lot of mercury?

I guess if you want more information about the positives and negatives of fish oil, you should google it. Your mileage may vary.

4 out of 5 stars Heathy Blood Vessels   April 27, 2008
I've been taking Nature Made Omega-3 for years. At my recent check-up, my MD told me that my blood vessels and arteries where pliable and very healthy. I'm a 59 year old and that was good news. She said to continue taking the Omega-3. I purchased the 1,200 mg to boost the benefits.

5 out of 5 stars Quality & Price   January 6, 2008

Most doctors say you should have at least 1g of Omega-3 fatty acids a day for general health. Doctors still are debating whether 1g or 2g of Fish Oil is preferable for treating depression, but fish oil is preferred over vegetable products. Make sure they contain EPA and DHA acids. Nature Made is quality controlled and the price is excellent. Plus, they have an incentive program that gives you great discounts.

2 out of 5 stars Actually has 360 mg   September 17, 2007

The true dose is only revealed by adding the EPA and the DHA. One softgel has 216 mg of EPA and 144 mg of DHA. So, one softgel has 360 mg of helpful fish oil and the remaining 840 mg is filler fish oil.

When comparing fish oil, look at the back panel supplement facts. Add the EPA and DHA to get the true MG and make sure you look at the serving size. Nature made has 2 softgels per serving size, so you must divide by 2 to get the per softgel info.

Twin Labs Mega appears to have the most.
