5 out of 5 stars Fresh air without the hassle   September 22, 2008

Great little product, with an innovative, effective design. I'd been using adhesive strips for the past year to allow me, a guy with allergies, to breathe normally and reduce bouts of snoring. This product works almost as well for me, without all the daily unpackaging, sticky glue, and monthly expense.

I have a smallish nose, which fits the clip well, but I have no idea how it might work with larger or smaller noses. If it fits, though, the air flows nicely although I keep the second clip handy at bedside; about every other night the clip pops out while I'm sleeping, and I simply reach over and pop in the other one. Just a minor annoyance.

If you give this a try, just be sure to insert it correctly and then experiment a bit for comfort. Mine has never hurt after I figured out the correct way to insert it (the instructions are foggy) and then gave my nose a week or so to adapt. For me, some mild initial discomfort, nothing more.

My only concern is long-term: how long will the clips last? My first has retained its shape for several weeks, thus far, but that won't last. At least they're cheap and come in pairs. Meanwhile, I'm sleeping well, with the added peace of mind that I'm seldom waking my wife. It's nearly all good.

UPDATE: I'm approaching the end of my third month with this product, alternating between the two enclosed clips. Their resistance is still good, probably helped by my realization that I could use them with either side facing outward (although the correct side, the smooth side, is more comfortable). It seems that alternating the sides prevents the clips from losing their original shape, thereby extending their effective life. Still, I just bought another pair to begin the new year in style.

5 out of 5 stars Works great for this life-time sleep apnea sufferer   September 20, 2008

I've had sleep apnea and the associated "horrific snoring" most of my life. I even had major reconstructive jaw surgery and septum repair for it 21 years ago, which helped a bit, but it is still a problem. When our local postmaster said a few weeks ago, "I got rid of my snoring problem . . . I divorced him", I panicked about my wife's lack of sleep and ordered this item.

It was like a breath of fresh air - a full breath. I slept better, my wife slept better and we were all happy.

Until it fell out one night and now I can't find the damn thing. It's not that small, but I'm afraid it may have been vacuumed up. So now I am ordering 3 more. Yes, they do fall out on occasion (there are large size ones - maybe that's what I need, but I'm addicted to my Amazon Prime free 2 day shipping, so I'll stick with this one), but they really work for me, so it's worth the risk.

By the way, I find that I also breath better in general both at night and during the day, even when I am not wearing this product. It could be that the expansion lasts a while. I've been missing mine for about 3 days and my breathing is beginning to deteriorate.

5 out of 5 stars Weird, Interesting, Different but WOW!   September 9, 2008

This product is so strange at first. I had to trim a little off the part that goes into your nose to make it more comfortable and I decided to give it an honest turn. Now I can't stop using it. I am not a dainty sleeper, I'm all over the bed and I have not awakened with it in its original position but I have to have it to fall asleep now.

The products that stick to the outside of your nose, they don't work for me because I rub them off in my sleep and I have to buy more but with this product I've paid only once.
This device opens my nose much better and when I wake up without it, instead of opening another nose strip, I just look for it in my bedding and put in back in position.

The more you use it the more it feels natural and it actually wears in. It becomes more supple and comfortable. Also, I've been using it for four months now and it still retains the elasticity to hold my nose open. I love it now; in the beginning, it was a little rough.

5 out of 5 stars Worth the initial pain   August 1, 2008

It took me about two weeks to get used to wearing this at night. They hurt a bit at first, like a new pair of shoes. I originally bought too big of a size and had to cut them down to fit. But they saved me about $6000 in surgery fees. I had a surgery date and was ready to have my deviated septum fixed (I ran into a sliding glass door when young), but just for fun Googled antisnoring devices, ran into Nozovent and ordered them. They solved about 95 percent of my snoring problems. I cancelled the surgery. My spouse is delighted, and I have a much more restful sleep. I'm ordering another pair right now. Much cheaper to go this route than the strips.

5 out of 5 stars Takes getting used to but works   April 23, 2008

This hurts at first as others said, but after about a week of breakin I got used to them. I was able to stop using Afrin multiple times per week to keep my sinuses open. I suffer from sleep apnea, but this has had the desired effect. Just wish they'd always stay in my nose all night, they pop out sometimes and they are hard to find in the bedding.
