Great shampoo for Colorado climate! October 9, 2008 This shampoo leaves your hair shiny and healthy looking, especially hair that has been color treated or permed. It's a perfect shampoo for drier climates in Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. It is a hydrating shampoo as named! This wonderful shampoo should be followed by their hydrating conditioner. Only a very small amount of the shampoo and conditioner is required each time.
Overrated. August 24, 2008 While I applaud this product for being 100% natural, it smells funky. Used in conjunction with the conditioner, you ultimately don't notice the scent because the conditioner has this minty freshness. The shampoo, however, does not possess the same minty smell. That being said, the hydrate line is the best smelling line within the pureology system.
It is my understanding from my colorist that the pureology hydrate line is designed to restore and "heal" your seriously damaged color treated hair. However, it can be overwhelming for healthy hair.
My complaint with this product is that, used in conjunction with the conditioner, after two weeks of daily usage it left a residue or film on my hair. It would require I use a clarifying shampoo to remove the residue and I became concerned that the clarifying shampoo would be too harsh on my color. Another complaint is the price of this product. I believe that it is overpriced for the results that it yields. If you are willing to pay for this product, I would suggest you spend an extra $5 and purchase the kerastase bain satin.
I currently use Redken's Color Extend and am much happier with the results. My hair is soft, silky, and my color looks fabulous. Plus, the product smells better and is much more reasonably priced.

I use this product regularly. Treats colored hair very gently.Good product. Fast service.
Best. Smelling. Shampoo. Ever. May 13, 2008 Finally! A shampoo that I actually love, not just like and slavishly buy in order to save my hair from hellish aisles of tutti-fruity smelling, packaged-to-target-teenage-girls-and-the-elderly pharmacy products.
I have been faithful for years to Goldwell brand, which I long considered to be the "gold-standard" for my combination fine/wavy/dry hair. But this one takes the cake.
The smell, for one, is just plain awesome. It's herbal and earthly and clean... much like Aveda shampoos are, but SOOOO much better. I actually spent much of the other day whipping my head from side to side just so I could smell this shampoo. Good thing no one else was around...
WHen you get out of the shower, your hair doesn't feel weighted down and heavy. It feels so clean and fresh.
Based on the other hundreds, perhaps thousands of products I have tried in the last 20 years that I have been obsessed with haircare, this is my favorite. At least for now.

This is my favorite shampoo in the world. They don't sell it in my town and I had to find it online. Although it seems like a lot for shampoo, this will probably last me a year!
